Steven Ross has been working at the Institute of Regional Studies as a student, research assistant and lecturer since 2015. For the past 35 years, he and his family have been commuting between his two homes: the greater Strasbourg area and the greater San Francisco area, in an attempt to combine the best of both cities (and continents), not only on a personal level but also in terms of urban planning. His professional experience is similarly well-rounded, having worked for private-sector energy companies, in public administration in the fields of spatial planning and energy policy, and in academia in Germany and the USA.
