The research field of integration of methods connects different scientfic approaches with the objective to develop multidisciplinary research and planning methods facilitating regional development and management from a holistic perspective. This includes
- to combine approaches from different disciplines of natural, engineering and social sciences by creating methodological interfaces (theoretical paradigms, models, scenarios, geographic information systems, etc.),
- to analyze and develop interfaces facilitating the exchange of methods and information between research and practice (science-policy interface, development of decision support systems) to increase the usability of research results for regional development and planning.
