German-Argentinian double degree program

Focussing on regional science and environmental changes

Realized in cooperation with the Universidad Technológica Nacional (UTN), this interdisciplinary master’s degree program at the interface of geo, natural and social science prepares the students for a professional activity in the field of  regional planning, environmental management and development cooperation.

Using methods from social science, economy and natural science, the discipline of regional science analyzes regional structures, processes and conflicts in order to find out regularities to evaluate future developments and to influence ongoing processes with the instruments of regional politics and spatial planning.

This program focuses on the anthropogenic pollution o fair, water, soil, and its management, combining the environmental engineering expertise of UTN and the governance and regional planning expertise of KIT.

Students study the first two terms at the Institute of Regional Science (IfR) of KIT and the third and fourth term at the Facultad Regional Córdoba (FRC) of UTN.

Each academic year, up to ten study places are awarded to applicants of KIT and UTN. The program’s structure which is based on a close connection with the other two master’s degree programs of KIT allows the students to build up international networks and to increase their interkultural sensitivity.
