German-Argentinian double degree program
Realized in cooperation with the Universidad Technológica Nacional (UTN), this interdisciplinary master’s degree program at the interface of geo, natural and social science prepares the students for a professional activity in the field of regional planning, environmental management and development cooperation.
Using methods from social science, economy and natural science, the discipline of regional science analyzes regional structures, processes and conflicts in order to find out regularities to evaluate future developments and to influence ongoing processes with the instruments of regional politics and spatial planning.
This program focuses on the anthropogenic pollution o fair, water, soil, and its management, combining the environmental engineering expertise of UTN and the governance and regional planning expertise of KIT.
Students study the first two terms at the Institute of Regional Science (IfR) of KIT and the third and fourth term at the Facultad Regional Córdoba (FRC) of UTN.
Each academic year, up to ten study places are awarded to applicants of KIT and UTN. The program’s structure which is based on a close connection with the other two master’s degree programs of KIT allows the students to build up international networks and to increase their interkultural sensitivity.
Scholarship
The German-Argentinian University Center (CUAA-DAHZ) supports this program with 10 scholarships per academic year, which include financial support for:

- Travel costs
- Language courses
- Travel insurance

Field research in Latin America over a period of several weeks during second year of study.

Candidates submit their application via the KIT applicant portal. The KIT International Student Office provides information on application documents and admission requirements. The KIT Studierendenservice provides information for German candidates with an international degree.
Studies start in winter term annually (01 October).

For organizational reasons (via request, apartment search, etc.) we strongly recommend candidates to apply no later than 15 July. Candidates who send their application by 15 July can expect to be promptly informed on their admission.
